Donation or Pledge
When you make a pledge, you help sustain a welcoming and diverse community rooted in love, trust, and freedom.
What is a pledge?
A pledge is a personal commitment to contribute a specific amount of money to the church over the course of a year. It is a promise of support, not a binding contract, and it can be adjusted if your circumstances change.
Why does pledging matter?
Unitarian Universalist congregations are independent and self-supporting. That means the ministry and operations of UUCSP are funded by local generosity. Everything from community programs to staff support to utilities and building care depends on gifts from members and friends.
Pledging also helps the church plan responsibly. Annual pledges provide a more reliable foundation for building the budget and supporting the congregation’s ministries throughout the year.

Questions About Giving
How much should I pledge?
This is a personal decision. We invite you to consider your financial circumstances, your values, and the role this community plays in your life. Give in a way that is generous and sustainable for you.
If you are facing financial strain, please know that you are always welcome here. We ask each person to give what they can.
What does my pledge support?
Your pledge supports the full life of the congregation, including:
- worship and music
- children’s and faith formation programs
- social justice ministries
- fellowship and small groups
- staff and administration
- building care and utilities
- the wider work of Unitarian Universalism
These gifts make it possible for this congregation to fulfill its mission: nurturing connection, deepening spiritual life, and helping to transform the world through love and justice.
