Jacqueline Higuera McMahon is an 8th generation Californian, a descendent of one of California's original rancho families. The Spanish branch of her family came to California via Mexico in the late 1800's. She is a former food editor of the San Francisco Chronicle as well as the author of 9 award winning cookbooks. A few titles are: Healthy Mexican Cookbook, Red & Green Chile Cookbook, California Rancho Cooking, and The Salsa Book.
