Winter Solstice Celebration 2023
Day and Time
Thursday Dec 21, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PMDetails
The Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula will present its Annual Winter Solstice Celebration on Wednesday, December 21 at 7:00 PM in person in the Sanctuary of the church and on Zoom. Solstice is an ancient planetary-wide celebration of the longest night and the returning of the Light. From ancient times, traditions have mixed amongst religions and cultures. So it is that this year we will once more hear of bringing light to the darkest time of the year and the shortest night. The Celebration will be led by Rev. Maddie Sifantus, readers, and the Solstice Singers accompanied by Lisa Popeil, and more. Solstice finery and jollity encouraged. Followed by Wassail (a reception) in the Pairsh Hall
The church is located at 740 E Main Street in Santa Paula. The Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula has been home to a number of musical events throughout its history. Admission is FREE. A basket will be available after the Celebration for those who wish to participate in a Free Will Offering to help cover expenses. UUCSP is a registered Ventura County Historical Landmark. For more information about the venue, call 805-525-4647 or email uuscpoffice@gmail.com. Parking is on the street, in the lot at the library or behind the church.
