Social Concerns Action Committee Film Series

Day and Time

Details

The Social Concerns Action Committee is launching its Israel and Palestine Film Series beginning, 12:30 P.M., Sunday after church, October 20, in the Sanctuary. We hope by showing these films, and discussing them afterwards, we will gain understanding of the events leading up to the October 7th attack, and the hopes and dreams of people involved in this conflict. It has become a divisive issue worldwide and may influence the outcome of our presidential election. Bitter confrontations are happening on our university campuses. Our first film, “Independent Jewish Voices: 100 Years After Balfour” is a 24-minute video concentrating on British Foreign Secretary’s, Arthur Balfour’s, letter of 1917, confirming Britain’s support for a “national home” for the Jewish people in Palestine. We hear a number of voices of members of “Independent Jewish Voices”, who are a network of Jews in Britain with a shared commitment to human rights, international law, and a just and peaceful solution to the conflict in Israel/Palestine.

Parking is available on the street in front of the church. In addition, there are a limited number of parking spaces behind the church in the alley-way. A handicap accessible entrance with an electric lift is available on the east side of the building next to the side entrance.
