In the ongoing process of creation, the wheel of the year continues to turn. In earth based theologies, this time is one to celebrate the first fruits of the harvest. Dr. Gabino Aguirre will join us to tell us more about LUCHA, the recipient of the First Sunday Plate in August. Rev. Maddie and Worship Host Ellen Deeb will be joined by Vincent Sorisio, church musician and Erik Halseth, technical support assisted by Michael Gonzales and this Sunday observed by Evan Holt. SPECIAL THIS SUNDAY AS WE CONSIDER THE FIRST HARVEST: Please write and send to Rev. Maddie your brief thoughts on the blessing of grains which will be used in her reflection. Write down as many forms as you can think of in which grain appears in your diet—all forms of grains from modern to ancient. If you don’t send them, you will have the opportunity to write them in the CHAT on Sunday.
