The first time we know that a similar question was asked was in the biblical book of Genesis when Cain had murdered his brother Abel and was asked by God where his brother was. Cain responded: “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” But today we will broaden the language and the context of this earlier question. What could it mean if saw ourselves as the caretakers of everyone, not just those we know? Hmmm.
