Thomas Weisbecker and Ariel Alexander with Ruth Ricards
Various Christian cultures throughout history have envisioned Jesus in ways that reflect their deepest hopes for justice and liberation—across races, nations, and traditions. In honor of Pride Month, we invite you to an exploration of transgender theory, transgender experience, and the recognition of a “third,” transcendent, non-binary way of being. Today’s American media is filled with unchecked misconceptions about transgender lives, making compassionate theological reflection more necessary than ever. As the embodiment of divine transformation, Jesus calls us beyond binaries—always toward broader horizons of love, justice, and understanding of ourselves and others.
