Service: UU’s of Our Past – Extended: Cora Crane Hardison

Day and Time
Sunday Jul 28, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Leslie Nichols, MaryBeth
Our member Leslie Nichols takes a look “Back in the Day” at an exemplary Universalist from right here in our county. Cora Crane was born to one of the earliest American families to settle in CA. After an arduous trip from Ohio in 1861 Jefferson and Janette Crane came to Ventura County to find our Santa Clara Valley "green and inviting". The Cranes stated at the time, "Everything pointed to prosperity and we were made captive by it." Cora, their daughter, was born in 1873. Cora's daily life, her marriage to A.C. Hardison, and the impact it had on Santa Paula and our Universalist Church will be explored.
