Day and TimeWednesday Jan 29, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The community is invited to a meditation practice group at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula at 740 East Main Street on Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Hall led this evening by Rev. Maddie Sifantus. Enter through the front gate to the left of the main entrance and come in the side door. This group celebrates the diversity of Buddhist and other meditative orientations and welcomes participants from all contemplative traditions to attend. Allow about an hour and bring your meditation cushion, if you have one, or you can sit in a chair. The group is open to everyone; there is a free will offering ($5 suggested but all invited regardless of funds). The meeting will begin with a reading and short discussion, with a guided meditation leading us into a time of silence. There is power in meditating together. We would love to have you join us. For more information, leave a message. For more information, leave a message on Reverend Maddie's private line at the church: 805-525-4620 or email msifantus at uuma.org.
Following Meditation on Wednesday, January 29, we will have a special potluck for those who attend or have attended our Meditation Practice Group the last five years. Our congregation, which hosts it as part of our Spiritual Growth Center, is going through a Mission and Vision Process which includes getting input, from not only our members, but also our friends and all the groups meeting in our building and the larger community as well. What would you like to see as part of the Spiritual Growth Center? What need does our Meditation Group fill? How can the congregation better serve its members and friends and the large community? We will enjoy eating together and answer “three powerful questions” together through the lens of mindfulness. All are invited, whether you have been once or attend weekly. If you can’t come at 6 PM to meditate, come to share the potluck at 7 PM. It would be helpful if you let Rev. Maddie know you are coming and what you might bring to share so she can coordinate it. Reach her at 805-525-4620 or msifantus at uuma.org
